AI-caused calamities are human oopsies at scale
So many of the “AI-caused calamity” stories I see come down to basic gaps in permissions and process, the same issues I've seen take down production from humans oopsies. AI just does it faster and at scale.
Some people want to believe the fantasy that AI will handle these concerns for them. Others just don’t know better (Dunning-Kruger effect). Either way, these hazards have always existed and it's still the responsibility of humans to prevent/reduce the risk of them striking.
