The 'security consultant' who presented my diagram as their own. Twice
A "security consultant" once took the security diagram I created (because they never made one after being asked repeatedly) and recreated it component-for-component in another format. Then presented it to my leadership as their own. Twice. With the same diagram.
The quotes around "security consultant" are very intentional, my team and I did their entire job for them, particularly after they greenlit extraordinarily insecure plans.
Experiences like that make me less worried about reentering the consulting market, no matter how “saturated” it looks. The flood’s full of incompetence and con artists. There’s always room for people who actually know what they’re doing, and care enough to do it right.

Jessie has spent 20+ years architecting and delivering software for organizations where complexity is the norm — financial services, insurance, nonprofits, and regulated industries where getting it wrong isn't an option. She specializes in the hard problems: unique operational workflows, cross-system integrations, and the kind of compliance requirements (HIPAA, CCPA, SOC 2) that most developers treat as someone else's job.
At Codality, she leads every principal engagement from discovery through delivery — because she's seen what happens when that thread gets cut.
